Hello everyone. I am looking to buy some over the ear headphones to listen to Bluegrass music through my laptop. I would like headphones that are a can be portable for when I go out of town. I am also looking for headphones that can be used as wireless or wired.  I would like to spend less than $200. But most important I want the sound quality to be excellent. Most earbuds I use don not pick up the bass at all on Bluegrass tracks. But most over the ear headphones now have a very heavy bass with muddy mid range and muted treble.
So what are the best over the ear headphones for Bluegrass music. Preferably, wireless that can be used as wired for under $ 200? Thanks in advance for your opinions and feedback.

Jeff, check out Gearslutz. It's a superb website for recording and live sound.

hmm I've never delved too much into those, but just did a little digging. The AKG are out price range at $320 (& they make best phones I've ever heard working at a studio... they were $1500!), but JBL Everest & BOSE look spiffy.

And then there's the obligatory confirmation-bias mention... I use $100 ATH-M40x & really love em, but they are not wireless. I use em for just music as well as with Helix for electric & DAW work. But they make a Wireless M50x now for $200 & I'd prob check those out first. Let us know!...

I love JBL. I ended up with a pair of Sennheisers HD 4.5. You can use them as wireless or wired. I had read a lot and did a lot of research. These seemed to have very high ratings as far as reviews go. I like them. They have a great sound and a true sound. I think they are good headsets for the money. There is an online E.Q. software you can use to adjust the sound if you use them as wired headphones. I am happy with them.

JBL rules! Best guitar speaker ever in the E120 which is what I have for my Jerry-rig. (Garcia)

Love JBL. But the ones I bought are good. You can hear the bass but the mids and high end is good also.
